Finkernagel Ross has worked in close collaboration with the Big Mamma Group to deliver Giorgia Trattoria in Munich, the group’s first venture in Germany and a significant step in its European expansion.

Building on a richly layered concept developed by the client’s in-house design team, our role was to translate an ambitious narrative into a fully realised, buildable environment within the constraints of a listed building. Acting as local architect and delivery partner, we guided the project through complex statutory approvals, technical coordination and on-site execution, ensuring the integrity of the concept was preserved at every stage.

The design evokes a theatrical Milanese narrative, opulent, expressive and immersive, while responding sensitively to the historic fabric of the building. Through careful coordination with local contractors and authorities, we enabled a seamless transformation, supporting the client in establishing a bold new presence in Germany and delivering a distinctive, high-impact dining destination.
