Having completed two significant projects for Stahlwerk Augustfehn GmbH, namely Anbau and Neue Hammerhalle, we have embarked on a new project for this client, a North German steel forge, to create additional office and meeting spaces. Construction began in April 2016 and will include a roof conversion and extension to the original mid-20th century administration building. The traditional pitched roof is “peeled” away to reveal new, transparent offices, incorporating a painstakingly restored former factory clock within the new glazed façade.
Finkernagel Ross acted as architects, project managers and interior designers, procuring and directly managing all separate trade contracts for the project. The works complete a near decade of regeneration of the company’s public profile, in part through architecture and design.
